TraPlaGo uses advanced algorithms that incorporate swimming best practices, training principles, and creative variation to generate unique swim plans tailored to your specifications. Each plan balances proper structure (warm-up, main set, cool-down) with engaging variety.
Training goals are a two-layer system. A personal goal captures your big-picture motivation — losing weight, building endurance, preparing for a race, or simply enjoying the water. A workout goal targets the specific physiological stimulus for today's session: aerobic endurance, lactate threshold, sprint power, technique drills, and more. TraPlaGo automatically translates your personal goal into appropriate workout goals and derives the right intensity mix for each session.
Absolutely! TraPlaGo's Simple mode is perfect for beginners, providing straightforward workouts with clear instructions. Pair it with a goal like Enjoy Swimming or Learn to Swim and you'll get sessions that build confidence without overwhelming you. As you progress, you can explore more challenging generation modes and goals.
Match the mode to your energy level that day. Simple suits recovery days or beginners; Adventurous adds variety for regular training; Tricky engages your brain with complex sets; Absurd and Bonkers push advanced swimmers to their limits. Your training goal and the generation mode work together — for example, "Get Faster" pairs well with Tricky or Absurd, while "Improve Technique" works best with Simple.
Focus Distance tells TraPlaGo which race distance you care most about right now. The algorithm then increases the frequency of sets at that distance and adjusts intensity patterns and rest intervals to match the demands of that event. See the Focus Distance guide for details.
Critical Swim Speed is a scientifically-backed threshold pace derived from timed test efforts. Entering your CSS in TraPlaGo lets the generator calibrate exact training paces for each intensity zone, making your workouts precisely right for your current fitness level.
